Is it difficult to think about what is going on during a soccer game and follow the action of the game as well?

I think about this from time to time when watching soccer sober, and it is especially something I think about before and after a match I attend.  When I’m attending a match it’s hard not to get swept into the energy of the event and the desire to support the team, and thinking how the team and individual players are doing becomes difficult.  In addition the many beers and strong emotional connection to the team and desire for results cloud my thoughts.  In reality the best time to really think about team strategy and individual quality is when you can see the whole field in front of you and you can choose what and who you are looking at, at any time.  Even if I was standing in some suit watching two teams that I had no emotional connection to, ignoring the atmosphere and only concentrating on the game, completely sober, would I be able to switch brains from the brain that wants to fallow the ball and get excited about the building momentum, and the brain that want to attempt to analyze what each team can do and have done to play better in the game?
